Hi Hannes,
The easiest way is to run, on your local host:
$ xhost + your.remotehost.com
Then on your remote host be sure the DISPLAY environment variable is set
to your local host. You can usually check by echoing like this:
$ echo $DISPLAY
If it isn't there then you can find your local host name, on your remote
host, by using the who command.
$ who
or
$ who -l
Then set the DISPLAY variable like this:
$ DISPLAY=your.localhost.com:0.0
For some reason setting it to anything else doesn't seem to work even
though SSH1 defaults to :10
