Hi Art. Idont know what Aster did to get the loud beat ;; but I use an empty cream container ( type you get with a cup of coffee ) and put it over the stack of my loco;s to magnify the sound ;; and you can hear exactly whats happening in the cylinder . . you have to move it about a little to get the full effect .
