Funny, the reason is the opposite. A SCSI CDR is maybe $89 instead of $49, but IDE hard drives are like $89 vs SCSI $189. If you use a SCSI CDR, then you can use 2 cheap IDE hard drives. IDE is MUCH more processor intensive, uses cpu more, than scsi, so I can see how a lot of early CDR had troubles, or might of had troubles, but a modern burn proof cdr is MUCH less sensitive. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:starmax@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:starmax-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:starmax-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
