The there shouldn't be any network problems with accessing the StarMax from either of the two newer ones. The problem will be in what sort of protocol to use. With the Apple machines, you can enable file sharing on the StarMax and be able to get to the files on the SM that way.
For the Dell to the SM, though, that is a bit tougher. OSX is able to access Windows networks. It takes a bit of work to get it squared away, but it does work. However, with the SM & OS 8.6, one does not automatically have a Windows compatible file sharing system available at hand. At one time one could get software that allowed file sharing between the two, but I do not know if it is still available. The cheap and easy way would, perhaps, be to ftp the files between the machines. Several good ftp clients are available on both machines.
Oh, and just a thought. One could mount both file systems on the OSX machine and copy the files from the SM to the Dell.
