I also have similar ST-Fax difficulties which I do not understand but
it is reliable as a modem.
My problems are:
_Independent Mode_ I cannot rely on ST-Fax to capture all the
messages and so I have to interrogate the modem manually with a paper
and pencil handy! ST-Fax often loses information at about 14s into an
incoming message.
_Call Intercept_ ST-Fax will not allow me to "Intercept" or "Answer
in speakerphone mode". The "Now you can talk . . ." dialogue box
appears but the call will already have been lost. The "hang up"
button eventually gets rid of the dialogue box but the modem keeps the
telephone line busy (on picking up another phone I hear the "you've
left your phone off the hook" wailing noise.
_Follow Me_ The follow-me options always appear greyed out.
