It really does at least up to a certain extent, chris - sorry 8)

Agreed, concerning the way to set AVM up, but it really doesn't show that
degree of unstableness (sorry for this word, can't describe it better).

So it also MUST have something to do with the way to communicate with the
modem and that's where the software (STFax, AVM, ...) comes in.

Francis confirms my observations here because EVEN with my "poor supported"
USR Sportster Fax/Voice 33.600 I can use the very same USR modem at the
very same AMIGA internal serial interface as a reliable fax/voice mailbox:

For example: EVERY phone ring gets recognized/reported !!!
For example: EXACTLY after the adjutsed number of rings, AVM goes offhook !
For example: NO mixup between recognizing a fax/voice call !!!
..

.. and god knows, I did a lot of heavy long lasting testing with that over
months (also with STFaxPro)...

Don't know why, I'm no programmer at all but I just report my local facts.

I really would like to see getting STFaxPro the same reliability I can
achieve with this old AVM; that's the reason why I bought it and still care
about it's development, just to make things clear.
(... just for those people, who are 101% lucky with STFaxPro because
fortune decided to make their system work perfect in some magic way and
treat those "not so lucky ones" as simple "whiners" -- you know who you are
;->

.. still hoping and trusting in Simone 8-)...
