Well in the beginning I also had the 'pick-up' problem,
but I managed it to work (changing the modem's init string
and changing the 'timelimits' setting of the modem to 10.
(Last item on the left side of preferences (listview)).
This seems to be well known problem,
because it has been discussed here several times.
So, just do some test....
(BTW, itsn't this very strange, me sitting in my own house, calling
my own telephone number via mobile, waiting for STFax to pick up
the phone telling me that I'm not at home?
Things are getting weird in the modern world!!!)
