I have to state that Pace did *NOT* close down due to the modem related
business (this was going strong), it was more to do with them stupidly
diversifying into graphics cards, radio cards, TV cards etc etc, and then
finding them not selling...

Commodore made the excellent Amiga, and went bust. Many argue this was due
to them diversifying into the PC market.

Also, Pace had very little money compare to the likes of Diamond and US
Robotics who spend $$$$ on worldwide advertising, so users automatically
think that 'US Robotics == best' when in ours, and many others opinions,
they were some of the worst modems around, certainly lately :-/

Lastly, don't mix Pace with Pace PLC, who are still going btw.
