Hi Nigel, Interesting bit of information. I did have the problem on another PC that another unnamed OS had problems with an identical disk when I made partitions over 1TB.
However, with OpenSolaris on the PC I'm trying to install it on, the disks don't even appear when I do hd or format. If I plug in 2 1,5TB disks and the CDROM, it just says no disks. I'm quite sure it must have something to do with the way my BIOS maps them, but since I can't figure it out, FreeNAS will have to do for the time being. Thanks a lot and, btw, interesting blog.
