Hi. I have a USB scanner (HP) which requires a SANE backend to run. Since the Hail
distribution of Storm has only limited support for USB (I run my Intellimouse on
the other USB port without any problems).....I would imagine that I should install
the USB backport to the linux kernel.

I was wondering if anyone has done something similar. Also, since I want to scan
while using GIMP, I have installed xsane-gimp1.1 and sane-gimp1.1, both of which
have been tweaked by Storm to have "hail" in their extensions. Does anyone know
where I should set up the HP backend, or should I remove the tweaked file, and
compile SANE directly from the source, so that I can successfully install the HP
backend.

As always, thank you for your suggestions
