Hello again.
I've unzipped the new source for SANE and installed the patch for HP4200. No problem
there. The make stage has some problems though. So I'm wondering if I have to
recompile the kernel source and apply
some patch to it. I think that I need some kind of file such as
linux/drivers/udb/scanner.h
The closed thing to that compiled by the Storm distro is
/lib/modules/2.2.16=storm/usb/scanner.o
Also, if I look at dmesg, I can see that the mouse is recognized, but the scanner
isn't. Here is part of the usb message:
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 2
usb.c: This device is not recognized by any installed USB driver.
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 3
Adding Swap: 120476k swap-space (priority -1)
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 1329
mouse0: PS/2 mouse device for input0
input0: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [Microsoft Microsoft IntelliMouse <AE> with IntelliE
ye] on usb1:3.0
Is there a way to install the scanner driver without compiling the kernel from scratch?
If I get a newer kernel, what will I be missing that is not in
kernel-source-2.2.16-storm?
Thanks for the help
-Glen
