I would imagine that if I recompile the kernel the difference between
kernel-source-x.xx and kernel-source-x.xx-storm has to do with the setting and
systems modules in
SAS. (Please correct me if I am wrong) The latest kernel-source-x.xx-storm is 2.2.16
while the latest stable kernel-source-x.xx is 2.2.17. As I mentioned before, I would
like to upgrade to 2.2.4-testx sometime, in order to get USB suppport for HP scanners,
but would rather not totally mess up some of the Storm-specific features presently
installed.

I was wondering if anyone could answer the following:
If rebuild the kernel to 2.2.4, what features in Storm Hail (or Debian Potato) can I
expect to botch up ??? (I guess that I could always set up lilo so I can select from
both kernels to be on the safe side). Thanks to Mircea's tips I also have an
up-to-date boot diskette with the current kernel settings.

Also, while the official 2.2.4 release may be some time away, will
kernel-source-2.2.17-storm be available soon?

Thanks,
Glen
