You're not the only one! This has been driving me bonkers in the last
few weeks.

I just recently noticed this problem myself in my environment, but
haven't received any complaints other than my own, so I thought it was a
limited problem.

Any ideas Sun guys?

David

My Config, FWIW:

SunRay 2 attached to a 1280x1024 17" lcd via VGA cable, using uttsc to
connect to an XP session. It happens mostly in Outlook, but I'll keep
looking in other apps to see if it's more widespread.

Subject: [SunRay-Users] SRWC 1.1 bug

I've had some issues with the windows connector. A problem pops up a few
times a day with the users. Part of the screen 'overlaps' and goes
missing down a vertical line of the screen. Seems to be only noticeable
with text. For example when you should see the word 'this', you see 'th'

and the 's' is superimposed on the 'h'. The length of what goes missing
and what overlaps is random. Sometimes letters are just closer together,
sometimes whole words are gone/unreadable. The problem is repeatable
when it does happen, like reopening the same e-mail. Also, the problem
isn't limited to one application. You can take the window off maximize
to 'fix' it. If you take a screenshot of the problem, the screenshot is
fine.

As a test, I installed rdesktop to help determine if the problem was
within the RDP client. There are no issues what so ever using rdesktop.

I've been trying to get the problem to repeat in my Sun Ray test
environment, and I actually reproduced it. I tried SRWC 1.1 with and
without the latest patches. Doesn't change anything.

They'll be logging a support call with Sun, but I wanted to get some
feedback through here. There must be a lot of people using the Sun RDP
client, I would think others have must have run into this problem?
