I wonder what you expect us to do.  
Users of some closed source software who are complaining that 
their software no longer works due to some progress in an 
open source project are among the most unwelcome contributions 
on an open source developer mailing list. 
I will not join such a chorus.

I also think that it is SRSS which has some work to do in order
to become a good Linux (and also OpenSolaris) citizen. 
The management of USB devices should cooperate with HAL/Dbus and 
session management should cooperate with ConsoleKit, see
<http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/ConsoleKit>

This is not only a Linux topic. It is more of a Gnome topic and  
perhaps OpenSolaris will go in the same direction.
