One could argue that, according to the letters of the GPL, they should provide
the patches to the binary package they deliver. But since upstream inclusion is
even better for the long-term development, I wouldn't nag about this point.
Anyway, it seems that the patches can be found here:
http://wwwcip.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/~simigern/sunray-debian/
thank you for the precious information.
what i miss now is:
according to the above mentioned page, GDM 2.8 already contains the
SUN patches and GDM 2.4.4.7 needs to be patched manually (with the
given patches).
But Solaris 10u4 contains GDM 2.6.0.3, so i wonder: does this version
of GDM need to be patched to work with SRSS, or it already contains
SUN patches? If not, where can i find the SUN patches for GDM 2.6?

Excellent point. We don't deal with SRSS+GDM on
Solaris, so I had forgotten this little issue, sorry :-\
I don't have a good solution for you. Sun doesn't
provide patches for S10 GDM because it's not
necessary for the products we support, and S10 GDM
doesn't have the necessary changes for supporting
SRSS - sorry.
You might send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] One of
the GDM maintainers (Brian Cameron) works for Sun,
and could perhaps help you.
In fact, I strongly encourage participation on
this list of Sun Ray users who utilize gdm (that
means all you Linux folks). There are some major
(spelled c,o,m,p,l,e,t,e) rewrites occurring, and
since we want to preserve SRSS functionality it's
important that your voice be heard. We have
control over what versions of GDM with what
functionality go into Solaris. Only *you* (the
community) have control over what goes into Linux
distros in the future.

Bob
