OOPS! Craig, once again, you are the MAN! I set the utaction but used "kill -9 $$" which of course seldom really works. That was to be another troubleshooting project. Now I understand why it doesn't work! The kiosk script bash process is apparently already gone when the utaction fires up! Using $USER, in this case one of the utku???? userids, should clean up the remaining fragments of the session much better. What about using "utsession -k -u $USER"?? or is the session "gone" enough that utsession isn't going to find anything to kill?
I also considered changing my policy to cards-only and creating a YUV file from the classification banner to use as the insertcard.yuv. However, the banner covers about 2/3 of the screen, considerably larger than the recommended business card size image. Thanks!
