I have been unable to follow this thread because of AOL/SM digest server
problems so I'm not familiar with the particulars here; however, is it
possible that you have an older version of Conflict Catcher installed on your
current startup drive? A known conflict between later OS versions & earlier
CC versions is problems with the floppy drive. If starting up w/ extensions
off (by holding the shift key down during startup) doesn't fix your problems,
this can't be it, but if you use CC & set it to the "Apple OS {whatever}
only" set, it could be the source of your problems.
Hope this is helpful & doesn't duplicate what others have already mentioned.
