If I were you I would avoid putting it in your present zip drive and try
somebody else's drive instead.  Even if other zip disks work in your drive
and the drive is ok, another Mac drive may access the disk a little
differently, enough to retrieve your data.

Of course warn them that it may freeze their computer just in case.
