Hello,

What can I do when a Zip Disk I having using becomes
unreadable? I have important information I need to retrieve.
I insert the disk into the Zip Drive and the computer freezes.
I have to restart the computer and unplug the zip drive to eject the disk.
Any suggestions on how I can get my computer to see the zip disk on my
 destop/read it again?

If I were you I would avoid putting it in your present zip drive and try
somebody else's drive instead. Even if other zip disks work in your drive
and the drive is ok, another Mac drive may access the disk a little
differently, enough to retrieve your data.

And while it's a little late to be telling you this, don't keep important data solely on ZIP. ZIP is one of the most unreliable, and expensive (on a per megabyte basis) forms of storage that you can possibly choose.
