However, we determined this is an Apple ROM'd CD drive because it's mounting CDs using the Apple CD/DVD extension. Are you selecting the 'bootable' CD in the Startup Disc control panel and using the Restart selection ? Also, I don't think you can boot from a OS X disc without some workaround. This brings our attention to your DiskCopy/Toast burned CD. Is there any way you can borrow a legal copy of either DiskWarrior or Norton Utilities to see if you can boot from them ?
