I have a similar goal but collect Mac's, Mac clones, a few Wintel and a lot of Unix boxes (Sun, Sgi, NeXT). I even have a Tandy 1000 on the internet. That took a lot of work. My Plus is on my network too.

One of my C500's is a 240 with cache doubler running at 280. I'm running 8.1 and using a D-Link card. The 530TX D-Link is actually a PC card that has Mac drivers on the CD with the x86 drivers. I put the card in the lower slot and had had no issues. I also have another C500 with a 240 cpu that has a generic no-name Realtek card installed. Again no issues with the Mac drivers downloaded from the Reaktek site. This card was lifted from a PC that was scrapped at work.

opposed to 180), and I'd like to add ethernet to it,
but I haven't been successful. I have 2 ethernet cards
for Macs that I have tried but neither seem to work.
I'm running 7.6.1 on it. Do I need something special
for it to run?

One is a pull from a 9600, and the drivers for it are
evidently included in 9.1 cuz the card works fine in
the 9600 with no other software help. I don't have
enough RAM to go to (.1 on this machine. The other is
a Farallon and requires drivers which I installed. Is
there something special about which slot it goes in or
something? I'm stumped.
