I'd like more RAM, but right now it's not in the
cards. Between the Burner and the firewire A/V
converter, I'm pretty much way over budget as it is.
It'll have to wait a bit, unless I can find some at
the recyclers.

That said, I visited an Apple store today, and one of
the reps said iMovie should do exactly what I need. I
poked at it a little in the store while he watched and
figured out a couple things. When I got home I had my
first successful tape capture where the video and
audio are in sync plus a burn of a real video DVD. The
only thing I'd like to do right now is designate a
different drive for iMovie to store clips. There
doesn't seem to be any place to change that info.

BTW, Will was right about storage. That 5 minute movie
with no compression takes up a gig. My 160 gig drive
is starting to look puny, and I've only had it a
couple weeks! It's a good thing most of the things I
want to archive are in the 4-6 minute range for
performances.

BTW, I've been facinated by your screen name for a
while. Is there a story there? Are you into old
records or have a dog like the RCA dogs or something?
