Yes, iMovie is probably your best bang-for-the-buck as far as video editing on your machine. I have an S900/G4/400Mhz upgraded machine w/OSX 10.2.8, 528MB RAM, and an external Firewire Pioneer A105 DVD burner. It does the job, albeit somewhat sluggish using Final Cut Pro (takes more resources than iMovie). I'm also using DVD Studio Pro 2 for DVD editing; it's like molasses on my machine, but it does work - so far I've edited and authored two DVDs of family video and working on the third. Actually, DV video is compressed (approximately 5:1 ratio) - so 5 minutes/GB isn't bad compared to uncompressed video ... ;).
