hey brian, i'm curious, how big is that hard drive? i mean it sounds old, and old means small, and small means there's not much you can put on it.
anways, have u tried booting from an OS 9 or 8 CD? perhaps the newer HD utilities on those CDs can read your scsi drive. i don't have too great of a knowledge on that. and if you are using the Umax System 7 CD, i think there's FWD harddisk toolkit on it, i don't remember. that program is pretty handy. it's in one of those folders.... extras or goodies or utilities. it's been years. i recall another goodie.. umm.. scsiprobe or something that'll mount drives. i'm not sure if versiontracker keeps that old stuff, maybe tucows.com might have it. oh hell, i just typed scsiprobe in google on it's there for the downloading. u might have to toss it on a floppy drive to get it onto ur system. if you're every planning to get OSX on it, u'll need a hard drive at least 10GB. a minimim install of Panther is 1.6 GB without the updates i think overall i ended up using 3GB to get to 10.3.9. --- Brian Gordon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Well ummm thanks but im using the original software > that was supplied with > it 7.5.3 i think and i have only one hd installed > but when i get to the > desktop from booting from the cd rom it doesnt find > the hd when i go to the > old drive setup app it sees the hd but claims it is > unsupported and wont > iniliaize it. > > Im not brave enough to try osx on it, might try 8 or > 9 if i can get it to > see the damn hd > > Thanks for the help so far Mekavich. > > Brian > >

>From: Mekavich > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
>Reply-To: > "SuperMacs List" > <[email protected]>
>To: > "SuperMacs List" > <[email protected]>
>Subject: > Re: [SM] Problems with > hd
>Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2005 01:10:35 -0700 > (PDT)
>
>1. if it > boots up, do you mean that you get to > the
>desktop?
