Have you tried the FWB app on the drive since getting the ID number
correct ? I think all of the hard drives in the clones are
"unsupported" by Apple HardDisk Utility anyway and need a 3rd party
app like FWB to initialize, partition, and mount.

Sometimes it just won't work though. I would just get a1-4GB  Apple
SCSI drive from Ebay or the Swaplist and try that. You'll spend around
$50+ for an ATA card and there still may be a problem,
