Hey Listers I'm back ... and I have a problem. First, everyone have
an iPod? My mini is awesome, totally changed my music habit
and with that it also has revived my lone S900 ... its now my music
server, with that I have found a little app called "tuneconnect"
is anyone familar with this program? I can't get it to work ... and
it seems to be very simple to configure. I have a "Host" computer
my Quicksilver G4 that runs the app and the supermac that hosts
iTunes and my music library, you enable Apple Remote events on server
and on the host open the app and give the ip or "computer name" of
the music server ... simple enough?

the app doesn't "see" the supermac ???

I've had an on going "conversation" with the developer, who is not a
Mac guy and has tried to assist me, but were not getting anywhere.

on his instruction, I have elimanated all firewall/ant-virus software
(3rd party) from both machines, disabled Airport, I'm re-connected
with a "wired" router now and have deleted pref's and have run disk
utility to correct permissions. I've used Apple's Activity Monitor
to check for "hidden" apps and/or conflicts (not sure how to use this)

with the above mentioned can anyone help me with "sharing"
"appletalk" and "networking basics" as it pretains to the above?

One other thing that I've been thinking about on my "music server"
(S900) is that the Seagate 300gig is attached to it via Firewire.
might this be a problem? I'm listening to my library as of this
writing and its working flawlessly. the quicksilver (10.4.2) and
S900 (10.3.9) are KVM'd.

love to hear from all again, regards, Phillip Meza
