The default on Windows is no sharing of files. You have to explicitly share
any files or directories that you want to make available. If they are shared
then people can navigate to them with the open file dialog box and open
them. If you share the whole C: drive for instance, then everything is
available. So the game you need to play is to put the ebase files high
enough in the directory hierarchy that you don't have to share it when you
share other directories that you do want to share. With Win NT or Win 2000
you have much finer control of sharing, e.g. per user or group. You can also
share with passwords making it impossible for those not in the know to get
to the files.
