Most folks tend to slam microwaves... 
I however love them 

We use them extensively - and they are very easy to maintain and build. 

Check out www.UBNT.com for some decent equipment that is pretty inexpensive. 

Right now I am typing this over a Ubiquity Rocket system - I am about 8 miles 
away from town in the country - house surrounded by trees and I still thinks to 
a short stick in the sky have great service. 


Check out www.Wispa.org for some decent companies local to you that might be 
able to save you over the craptastic connections ;-)
