vgrep the Integrated Peripherals section (if you BIOS has such a thing) for
'Comm A' or 'Serial 1' or something involving COM, Comms, Serial (you get
the picture).  Usually they default to 'Auto'.  On my AMIs, Phoenices and
Awards they can be toggled through Auto, IRQ3/2F8, IRQ4/3F8, IRQ3/2E8 and
IRQ4/3E8 I think (the second number is the base IO port).  COM1 is usually
4/3F8, 2 is 3/2F8, 3 is 4/3E8 and 4 is 3/2E8.  (I may have the 2x8 and 3x8
switched over though, going from memory).  Some BIOSes don't have the
option, which is a BOAPITA (makes life a lot easier with server boxen and
UPSen I can tell ya'...)
