So that's why you can't change them in the setup. (As I previously wrote I
haveb't read the docs).

Oh, I have 2.1f. It works like a charm. Perhaps you should try it instead
of 3.0?
I've downloaded 3.0 but haven't installed it - and have no idea where it
currently is <g>. If I do try 3.0 I'll try and remember to travel ten years
into the future (ie. set the date ahead) before I install it and also
reinstall Eudora. Then perhaps I can get "back to the future" (or to the
present) all the time ;-)

The packet driver is of the form pciodi.com (that's my packet driver) and
is for the NIC. So when using dial-up you don't need a packet driver (I
think it might even complicate things).
