How many linux distros are out there? how many different app archive formats? RPM, DEB, dpk, or whatever. All I know steven, is that if I find a dos app on the net to download, I dont worry about whether drdos 7 will run it. It always will.
The power of linux arises in part from the vast library of drivers, aka 'dependancies'. The weakness of dos is the few which are available for it, but likewise, you hardly ever see a dos app that dont have everything it needs in the archive you download. While I'm glad to see people here into running antiques, the fact is that the vast majority of computers still running are 486 or better, and if running dos, using dos 5 or better. Since drdos 7 is free, and does fine on a 486 or better, there is no reason those dos users would ever havta worry about whether the app they download will run on their system. Arachne is the only dos app I know of with a version for the 586+ class platforms. To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
