Hey, I think I see a win-win here. Day's got this SCSI setup he's had no end
of trouble with getting to work under Linux. How about you ship him $35, he
buys a 2G drive that's widely supported, and he ships you the known-good
SCSI drive and controller. I expect with a bit of effort you'll get the
impossible done to fire it up under Linux, and Day will finally shut the
hell up about this same stupid problem that he's been harping on so much.
Hell, I'll even chip in $10 to the effort for a break from the incessant
whining and clueless commentary! Come on everybody, chip in!

Ain't teamwork grand? :)
