are you using 8bit color (256 colors) there is an option for netscape
--install, that switches the colour map, so that netscape can display
more colors. makes the rest look a bit uply. If the focus changes,
colors change too. normal behaviour.
if you start it like "/opt/netscape/netscape --install" you'll see the
same "feature"
