[SuSE Linux] modem problem

hi. =) how will i know if my modem is a winmodem. it's a pci cirrus-logic
x2-compatible modem. i trie using Kppp to detect the modem. but nothing is
happening. if it's a winmodem, does an external x2 modem works okay? thank
you.
