Hi,
Ok now I know that gimp will not even start
One more question you are in SUSE 5.3 and the gimp you use is the one
"out of the box". it works for me withe "out of the box version"
Here is are snipped of mail which were in this list during december when
I did my setup

Basically, all you need is to update the following packages:
xf86, xfsetup, xsvga. KDE is not involved in this, just leave it alone.
Bye,

Hi,
It's a great pleasure to answer this one as everybody help me out on
this one.
You need:
xf86-3_3_3-2_i386.rpm
xfsetup-3_3_2-2_i386.rpm
xsvga-3.3.3-0.i386.rpm
you can download them from :
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/XFree86-3.3.3-SuSE
then you do rpm -U for each of them like that:
rpm -U xf86-3_3_3-2_i386.rpm
rpm -U xfsetup-3_3_2-2_i386.rpm
rpm -U xsvga-3.3.3-0.i386.rpm
then reconfig X trough XFSetup.
