Its the server. I have a Diamond v550 with the nvidia TNT and gimp
flunks. On my system, 3.3.3-3 also kills windowmaker. **It happens!
No prob....'cause I know those SuSE guys are working on it. Patience
is my greatest virtue. :)

Lenz,
 If I recall, doesn't 3.3.3-2 cause a problem with xterm?
