Hi,

Now I'm confused, I did an install with SUSE 5.3 and the X packages I
updated are

xf86-3_3_3-2_i386.rpm
xfsetup-3_3_2-2_i386.rpm
xsvga-3.3.3-0.i386.rpm

from the suse site, but when I checked the SUSE site
http://www.suse.de/e/lx/new_in_5.3.html it is said

- shlibs6 (Dynamic libraries (built for glibc))
With this package you should be able to execute binaries that have
been
    build for glibc.

Anyway gimp works It doesn't crash ( at least I can open a file crop it
then save it again )
, I have to say that I didn't rebuild it but I rebuild my kernel.

I m new to linux so I m not sure I am qualified enough to answer to in
depth technical.

Hope this helps
