[SuSE Linux] adding items in kdmenueditor

hi. =) i'm having some problems with the kde menu editor. using root. i
could easily create items in the menu editor. but using my own account, i
can't drag the newly made item to the menu list. do i have to change the
the permissions in /usr using chmod 776 -R /usr. i did read the online
help that came with the menu editor. but not much help there. please help.
