Put full path name there not 'LIBDIR'. At least this is what I do. Till I
saw this I didn't even know ld.so.conf supported that type of variable
expansion. E.G. if you installed nome in /BUILD/gnome then you'd add
/BUILD/gnome/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig and it's a 'go'.
