I found diesel (1 or 2 gallon in a 20 gallon tank) gives me 5 to 8% better mileage. Engine Chevy 350. You can smell it in the exhaust too. Kirk

The lower the octane, the more power, actually, since all the octane enhancers are really just fire retardants. OTOH, if you're fuel is ethanol, you definitely want a lot higher CR, like 13.5:1 for ethanol, 25:1 for producer gas. Which is not such a bad deal, you can probably hit the former just by adding a turbo to a normally aspirated engine, and get better mixing to boot. -- Harmon Seaver CyberShamanix http://www.cybershamanix.com Biofuel at Journey to Forever: http://journeytoforever.org/biofuel.html Biofuels list archives: http://archive.nnytech.net/ Please do NOT send "unsubscribe" messages to the list address.
