The way you calibrate it is with standard weights.  Good luck finding a 
set, though.

That's a very acurate scale, but not versatile enough.  Mettlers in 
general are very nice scales, and VERY acurate, but they tend to be very 
light in capacity.  This one is really overkill for making biodiesel. 
We don't generally need 0.0001g acuracy.  It's like using a needle 
threader to pull a rope through a tire.

The Ohaus scales are a bit less acurate, but acurate enough to get the 
job done, they have more capacity by an order of magnitude, and they're 
also a LOT less expensive.

A good Ohaus scale might make a good complement to your Mettler.  Use 
the light capacity but very acurate Mettler to do the analytic work, 
like titrations, and then the Ohaus for full size batches.  Of course, 
the best way to assure that this would work would be to calibrate both 
scales with the same standard weights.  If you can find a set.
