Dear Andy and Friends--This is more pie in the sky stuff.  The amount of 
energy, industrial infrastructure and raw materials needed to produce such 
a system for "our houses" would be staggering--well beyond the reach of our 
already crumbling economic systems and infrastructure.  Besides, we don't 
have 10 years....   Tom
