Philo Agora's next talk will be Tuesday October 16
Morals without God - A Secular System of Ethics, by Ian Bryce
This talk explores the possibility of a system of ethics based on
rational principles and philosophical reasoning. It leads to the
presenter's core moral paradigm "respect for sentient beings". The
utilitarian principle is used to make qualitative and quantitative
comparisons of the consequences of possible courses of action.
Ian Bryce is qualified in science and engineering, and practices as
an aerospace engineer. He has long believed that rational principles
can add value in many areas of human judgement. He is currently the
NSW Campaign Manager for the Secular Party, aiming to contest the
coming election.
Next Tuesday October 2 , the Fair Trade Coffee House, 33 Glebe
Point Road, Glebe, $5,00 fee includes coffee or tea, 7.30 - 9.00pm ,
Come a little earlier if you want a meal.
