Hello,

I am trying to use the latest version of synaser with a program
written in Delphi.

I am stuck with a problem that I am unable to resolve.

It involves the use of a usb-rs232 adapter, the same problem does not
occur when I use a true onboard serial port.

This is what happens, I have also tried with the small example posted
by the author at the start of the synaser.pas file with the same
results.

1. I turn my pc on
2. I connect the usb-serial adapter to one of my usb ports
3. I run the compiled program
4. everything runs ok (it uses COM5 at the moment)
5. I disconnect the usb-serial adapter
6. now I put it back
7. from now on the serial port can't be used anymore

No matter how I try or how many times I exit and restart the
application, the COM5 is seen (the getserialportnames function works
fine) but I can't use it until I have restarted my pc.

I have tried 2 different usb-serial adapters on 3 different PC's and
it is the same.

The adapter is working fine and I have no problem with the
disconnect/reconnect sequence on HyperTerminal.

Any hints on how I can resolve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

steve
