Hi Rene,
Syncope is using ConnId [1] as propagation layer.

In its early days, Syncope was using Sun's Identity Connectors Framework [2], abandoned by Oracle after acquiring Sun Microsystems. For this reason, we started ConnId as well; later on, ForgeRock started OpenICF.

Many improvements, fixes and additions (like as the noticeable Active Directory, full Java-based, implementation [3]) have been made by ConnId, in the meanwhile.

AFAIK, both ConnId and OpenICF are defining and implementing the same interfaces, derived from Identity Connectors Framework's.

Regards.
