The Classic and LC worked with the standard version of 6.0.8, so I cannot explain why Apple felt it necessary to include them in the list of compatible 6.0.8L models.

From personal experience I can tell you that if you use 6.0.8L on a Classic II, all 10Mb (Max Ram) of memory are recognized by the system, instead of the 8Mb limit for 6.0.8.

I believe "L" only runs on Mac models that do not have NuBus expansion. The address space reserved for (potential) expansion cards is used to accommodate the extra RAM.

Using 6.0.8L on a Classic II is fast despite the "Road Apple" design.
