MacX is a commercial (sniff) X server produced by Apple. I only have it because I stumbled across it in a second hand software store a few years back.
Exodus 5.4 I think runs on sys 6, far better than MacX for mine and can be found if you look hard enough, Mac-ssh has a 68k port, again I'm unsure if its sys6 compatible, there are a copy of others, very hard to find now. What version of MacX are you running, thanks.
