When you look at businesses which have been successful in the business
marketplace, like IBM and Microsoft, you will notice that they actively
support decade old products. Sometimes that support is just per incident
support, but sometimes that support involves implementing bug fixes or back
porting features. That support may cost money, but it is nevertheless there.

Perhaps you and I are looking at two different Microsofts, but the Microsoft I know (the one in Redmond, Washington) no longer supports Windows 95, which isn't even a decade old.
