Just to recall here what was in the original PT proposal put to the vote: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Public_Transport#What_this_proposal_does_not_cover "This proposal does not replace, deprecate or obsolete the already existing and well known tags" Don't expect that renderers have to change since the proposal states clearly "it's not necessary".
