I think OSM can be great, but it still has a very long way to go. Let's look at some of the best open source projects: 1. Linux: Dominates the server market and will soon dominate the smartphone market. 2. Apache: Dominates web servers. 3. Firefox: For a very long time they were miles ahead of their closed source competitor (IE).
